Love me whole, as you may
We were wind-swept by the breeze of the bay
Far from where we used to lay
The home we knew; safe ground
The thin ice is cracking
A dark depth below
We're falling under but,
No one knows
Good intentioned folks
They made the storm winds blow
But, where is the shore?
All I can see is change
Try as we may to swim against the current
A cold wind blows and nothing is the same
Harsh sounds, the words you say
Digging me a deeper wound
One last saving grace..
Alas, two hearts are no longer intertwined
And "no," I reply as they ask,
"All is not fine."
